Christy's Fan Fiction

It's late at night and Betty can't sleep so she decided to give her mom a call.  Betty said, "I don't know, mom. I miss Riverdale but I don't think I'm ready to go back."

"Honey, it has been two years since you went to New York and you still can't get a stable job, maybe it's time to come back. You have to face it sooner or later. Your father and I are here to support you." said Mrs. Cooper.

Betty sighed, "Alright, mom. I'll think about it again. Good night."

"Good night, sweetie. Love you." That was the last sentence that Mrs. Cooper said on the phone.

Betty sits on her bed and starts reminiscing about the past. Her life revolved around Archie for many years, even after he married Veronica, she still thinks about him every day.

She remembers the day she went to Pop Tate's Chock'lit Shoppe to get a soda with Jughead, only to find Archie on his knee, proposing to Veronica. Her heart shattered into pieces and she started sobbing uncontrollably. Her face was burning and her sight was blurred by tears but she kept running. It felt like the end of the world. What’s the point of living? That’s what she thought.  “There, there, Betty. You are a beautiful girl with a heart of gold. You are smart and talented. Many guys out there would kill to date you.” Jughead tried to console Betty. Then, he wiped her tears away with his fingers.

Betty heard a loud crash and she opened her eyes. She looked at the window, people are running frantically outside. A man uniform who appears to be a chauffeur to a sleek black limousine is apologizing profusely to an angry, middle-aged woman.  Suddenly, a man comes out from the car with jet black hair, long nose and grey crown hat. Wait…! Grey crown hat?! That looks like Jughead! It can’t be him, can it? Betty changes her clothes and runs out to the street.

She runs as fast as she can and heart is beating fast with excitement. She stands there in disbelief. It IS Jughead! At this very moment, she realizes how lonely she actually is, despite all the friends that she has in New York, none and no one could ever replace her childhood friends in Riverdale. Riverdale is her life. She misses her family, old friends and everyone else. Now, she wants to go back to Riverdale more than ever!

Betty watches Jughead from afar… His body language shows how calm and collected he is. He speaks to the middle-aged lady and she calms down immediately. That’s Jughead for you! He has always been skilful with words. After that lady leaves, she approached him and called out his name, “Juggy!” Jughead turns back, eyes widened, “Betty! My good ol’ chum!” exclaimed Jughead. He opens his arms and hugs her. “How have you been? Good to see you again. Let’s grab some grubs and have a talk,” said Jughead. Betty chuckled, “You are still the same. I have a few things to settle now. How about dinner at 7PM?” Jughead answered, “Deal!”

At 7PM sharp, Jughead arrives without his chauffeur and he takes Betty to a restaurant nearby.  They spend the entire night reminiscing about the past, how Betty always make the best cookies, the countless adventures that they experienced together and many more.

They grow closer after seeing each other day after day and a month has passed in a blink since the fateful meeting. Today, they meet each other as usual in a park and have a talk. “Betty, actually my stay in New York is just temporary. Please come back with me to Riverdale,” said Jughead. “I would love to go back with you! My mother will be delighted to know about this,” answered Betty. “There is another thing that I need to tell you. After spending more time together, I realized that I very fond of you… more than just a friend. Would you.. hmm.. would you go out with me?” asked Jughead. Betty keeps quiet for a moment. “Oh, how silly we were! I wish we were together since last time. Why was I so blind? You were the one there for me at all times,” Betty said in remorse. Jughead touches Betty’s cheek and says, “No… I wouldn’t change a thing from the past. We are what we are now because of it and I’m glad it turned out this way.” Betty blushes, “Oh, Juggy dear, I don’t know what to say any…” Before she could finish her sentence, Jughead kisses her on the lips and says, “You don’t have to say anything. I understand.”

Years later, Jughead proposed to Betty. They are married happily and are blessed with two children. Love finally found its way.

  1. The story's really funny and the situation is something that a lot of people can relate to. You might want to be a little more descriptive about the setting and the characters actions to give a clear visual image to the reader. Keep it up!

    1. Hi, Lance! Thank you very much for your suggestions. I'll try to be more descriptive. I have trouble with word limit so I deleted many parts.
